How are we performing?

The citizens of Edinburgh are entitled to expect quality services from the Council. People in Edinburgh want reliable transport, clean streets, safe neighbourhoods, good schools and affordable housing. Care for people who have difficulties looking after themselves will always be a key priority.

We recognise that while we are doing well in many areas, we still must do more. We must improve services for people if we want to achieve our aim of being one of the top performing councils in Scotland.

To do this we continually monitor our performance against number of things including key aims and goals and performance indicators.  The Single Outcome Agreement commits us to improving our performance and service quality. Statutory Performance Information 2008/2009

The Local Government in Scotland Act 2003 requires each local authority to make information on its performance publicly available. The Accounts Commission specifies the services and the performance information which must be reported. Information is shown for the 12 months until 31 March 2009, and to allow comparison, figures for the year ending 31 March 2008.

Annual Performance Report 2008/2009

The Annual Performance Report for 2008/2009 highlights some of the Council’s important achievements for the year. It describes how well the Council is performing across all of its important functions and is a key feature of the wider statutory public performance reporting framework.
