The Regulatory Committee functions are:
- Determining policies for the Council’s licensing functions under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 and other statutory provisions which are not within the remit of any other Committee (eg licensing).
- Taking all executive decisions on the above licensing matters which are not reserved to the Council, its officers or delegated to another Committee of the Council.
- Monitoring performance in the delivery of services and financial performance relating to Regulatory Committee matters.
- To approve charges as required by statute and determine licence fees.
- To determine individual applications for registration and licences under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act and other statutory provisions which are not delegated to officers, in accordance with approved policies.
- To exercise functions under legislation to deal with buildings in need of repair.
- To determine applications for road construction consent which are not delegated to the Director of City Development.
- To determine applications for permission to place tables and chairs on footways which are recommended for refusal by the Director of City Development.
- To exercise the Council's responsibilities in respect of safety at sports grounds.
