St Bride's Community Centre

St Brides Community Learning & Development Centre is located in the Dalry area of Edinburgh.

St Bride's occupies a former church building that has been converted to provide three rooms used flexibly to house a cafe/bar, dance studio, meeting rooms, creche, exhibition space and toddlers play area.  the multi purpose auditorium is equipped to a high standard with lighting and sound facilities and accommodates and audience of 250.

The Centre is staffed by a General Manager, a Community Learning & Development worker, a caretaker, two part-time clerical assistant and two cleaners.

There is no management committee, but an advisory group, comprising representatives of the various user groups which meets regularly and fulfills a coordinating role as well as advising the workers. Decision making rests with the General Manager.

Programme Profile:
St Bride's has established a strong tradition of arts based work that is expressed in its programme which includes a variety of classes in dance, art and drama together with language, yoga and exercise. Throughout the year, St Bride's presents dance and theatre performances, film screenings, ceilidhs and programmes the Acoustic Music Centre during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Part of the programme operates from an annexe in Springwell House.
