Portobello Community Centre

The Centre is just off Portobello High Street to the East of the Town Hall, close to the heart of Portobello and all the bus stops.  The Centre has a new reception office; main sports hall; meeting room; art/meeting room; pottery equipment; Youth Lounge with community garden. We aim to respond to the local community’s needs for local learning, social interaction, exercise and young people's activities.

The Centre is staffed by one part-time Facilities Coordinator; and is managed by an active Management Committee. The Centre provides an office base for The Girls and Young Women’s Resource Centre and Big Things on the Beach (Public Art in Portobello).

We have:Wireless internet and drop in computer facilities; a functioning pottery, and classes; the equipment can be accessed by those with experience who wish to develop their own work: mosaic, paper craft/card making and general art classes: exercise classes: advanced sequence dancing, line dancing and capeoeria sessions; karate for kids and taekwan do for adults and children: each Saturday we hold a coffee morning for older folk in the area. Our programme changes so check our new website.
