Norwood Community Wing

Norwood Community Wing, situated in West rural area of Edinburgh, serves the communities of Newbridge, Ratho Station, Ingliston, Clifton and outlying farms and cottages. The Community Wing and adjoining Hillwood Primary School were opened in 1977.

The staff consists of a Community Learning & Development Worker, clerical assistant and four youth workers. One janitor covers both the school and the community centre.

The accommodation in the Wing consists of a games hall, lounge and coffee bar in the lower part. In the upper part of the building there is a meeting room and small computer suite.

Programme Profile:
The programme offered at Norwood is varied in order to fulfil the needs of a community widely mixed in age. Programme includes Adult Education classes, youth clubs, Karate, Tai Chi, 50 and an under 3s project.
