The Edinburgh AwardThe Edinburgh Award was established in 2007 and is now a prestigious annual award to honour an outstanding individual who has made a positive impact on the city and gained national and international recognition for Edinburgh. The Award aims to acknowledge excellence in a person who crosses boundaries of other existing awards. The 2009 recipient is phenomenally successful Edinburgh-born cyclist and Olympic athlete Sir Chris Hoy MBE.
