Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Design DrawingsWorks to construct the tram network have now begun and the tram is scheduled to open to passengers by August 2011. New traffic regulation measures will be needed to enable the tram to operate efficiently on the road network in 2011. The design of these new measures follows on from the completion of the detailed design of the tram system and it is now at an advanced stage and should be complete by early 2009. So it is now possible to share the latest information with interested parties to inform them of the traffic regulation design. TRO update The design work is currently being finalised to take account of the comments received at the informal public exhibitions. The draft Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) will then be issued to the Statutory Consultees in the summer, their comments will be reviewed and final draft TROs will be prepared. These will then be reported to Councillors with a view to putting the TROs on public deposit with the usual 4-week objection period. The full TROs will be advertised in the press (and on the street(s) affected). Objections must be submitted in writing to the address noted on the adverts. Any objections received will be analysed with a view to reporting to Councillors. Please note that only comments received during the formal process can be included in the TRO procedures. If any previously submitted comments have not been addressed, then written objections will need to be submitted during the statutory 4-week objection period.
