Walk the Water of Leith 6 December 2009

Walk the 12¾ miles of the Water of Leith river corridor running through the heart of the city, from Balerno to Leith.  Explore its natural heritage, its past and visit St Bernard’s Well.  Free return transport to the start. Bring a packed lunch.  Meet: Start of walkway, Bridge Rd by Balerno High School. 9.30am to 4.30pm

Big Bird Event 24 January 2010

Learn about the different birds you can see at the Hermitage of Braid and what you can do to encourage birds to visit your garden.  There will be lots to do and see.  Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring wellies, warm clothes, and waterproofs.  Meet at the Hermitage of Braid Visitor Centre 12 noon to 3pm

Slateford Saunter 28 February 2010

Enjoy a walk through Colinton and Craiglockhart Dells, accompanied by the Countryside Ranger.  Explore the natural heritage, learn of the importance of industries past and find out the significance of our Waterways as we return via the Union Canal. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear sturdy footwear, warm clothes, and waterproofs. Meet at the Lanark Road entrance to the Dells, opposite the Water of Leith Visitor Centre at 10am – 12.
