A Look InsideStep inside to see this perfectly preserved example of Edwardian Edinburgh, left exactly as it was when it was left to the Nation in 1926. Upstairs, the house is a remarkable example of Edwardian interior design. See the grand drawing room with its mahogany, decorated piano and luxurious sofas, as well as a library stuffed with thousands of tales from yesteryear. The study is exactly as the last owner left it. If he walked back in today he would find his paperweight, stamp, stationery and ashtray still where he left them. Downstairs (not always open to the public) are the servants’ quarters, including the maids’ hall, and kitchen with gleaming copper pots and pans and original ranges supplied in 1827. Our guide can reveal the fascinating and rich stories of the past.
