Play DevelopmentPlay Development UnitThe principal aim of the Play Development Unit is to support and advise on play events and activities, working with other Council departments as well as voluntary and private sector agencies to develop and increase participation in play. The unit is involved in organising events such as Edinburgh's Playday and manages the activities of the Play Action Team which operates both the Playgroup Development Project. They also allocate small grants for play to voluntary and community based organisations, and are responsible for Edinburgh’s Play Strategy. The premises at Inverleith Park are not accessible to wheelchair users and there is no induction loop available for meetings. However staff members are available to meet in a venue appropriate to an individual’s needs within the city. Please contact us on 0131 469 3382. Play Strategy ReviewWe received hundreds of responses from children and young people, adults and organisations to our consultations on the new Play strategy (which closed on 3rd Nov 2008). The Consultation on the Review of Play report (Word) provides information on how the consultations were carried out, key findings and what comes next. Our thanks go out to everyone who took the time to respond to our survey. Downloads
