AssessmentAssessment for placement in any of the above services is carried out by a multi-agency team which can include representatives from Health, Social Work, Education, Psychological Services. Assessment is carried out with the family's involvement and will take account of the family and child/young person's views. There are several Professional Assessment Groups made up of professionals with expertise in the different areas of additional support needs. A multi-agency Professional Assessment Group considers all applications for the above services and makes recommendations which require to be approved by the Manager for Special Schools and Classes with exception of Wellington and Edinburgh Secure Services which require the approval of the Manager, Specialist Residential Services.
