School review reports

All schools are committed to continuous improvement. This is achieved through the familiar cycle of planning, implementing and reviewing. The success of this approach depends heavily on the effectiveness of school self-evaluation. The purpose of school review is to support the school in the process of self-evaluation.

Schools are reviewed regularly by Quality Improvement Officers from the Children and Families Department. Each review is undertaken in partnership with the staff of the school.

The subsequent review report affords the school the opportunity to demonstrate the quality of its work and to share this with parents and other interested parties.

Further information on the review process can be obtained from the Senior Quality Improvement Officer - Quality Assurance (SQIO-QA) on 0131 469 3069.

Also see the Follow-Through Reports published two years after an inspection, indicating the progress made by the school in implementing the recommendations contained in the original report.
