School Handbook

A child's years at school are among the most important of their lives. The whole experience of school, both in and out of the classroom, will help to shape your child's future.

Here in Edinburgh we want to ensure that every child has the best start in life. We aim to provide, for all children, first class teaching and learning facilities so they have the opportunity to maximise their educational potential.

The school handbook highlights the wide range of opportunities and activities available for children in areas such as the arts, sport and creativity. We are also keen to encourage our parents to take an active role in supporting their own school and this information is also included.

Further information

Many of our schools provide opportunities for parents to visit schools around the registration period for P1 and S1, but will also be happy to show you round at any other time. Please contact the school you are interested in directly to arrange an appropriate time if you wish to visit and find out more.
