Glow - the national school's intranet

Glow is the world's first national intranet for education. It is a national learning and teaching initiative funded by the Scottish Government that will transform the way education is delivered in Scotland. There are lots of benefits for staff, pupils, parents and carers.

We are fully embracing the roll out of Glow in our schools and nurseries. A pilot has been running across three schools since September and staff from schools throughout the authority have attended training sessions that will help get them started with Glow, before they receive official training from the Edinburgh Glow team.

From January 2010, we will officially start rolling out Glow in our schools. Our priorities for the remainder of this school session is to ensure High Schools are fully rolled out, but we also have the capacity to deliver to some primary schools. See the roll out schedule for 2009/10.

If the school you work in or your child attends is not on the list, don't worry. We will be in touch in March to confirm when the remaining schools will have Glow fully implemented.

If your child attends an independent school and you would like more information about Glow, please email Paul Thomson.
