Thorntree Street

Leith is a partnership between Bield Housing Association and Rowan Alba. It is a service for older people age 50  who are homeless.

Halmyre Street

The six three apartment properties at Halmyre Street, Leith are shared equity units. Shared equity units are applied for in the same way as other applications. The main restriction is that applicants must be older than 60 years old.

Castlebrae Glebe

This is a partnership between Bield Housing Association and the City of Edinburgh Council to house people who are 50 years old or above who are single or part of a couple. It also provides flexible housing support, a meal service and personal care. All the flats and communal areas are built to 'housing with varying needs' standards. Applicants must be:

  • Aged 50 years and above and,
  • May have a physical disability and/or,
  • may have mild or moderate dementia and/or,
  • are inappropriately placed in hospital or residential care and/or,
  • have been assessed as requiring over 12 hours of housing support per week and/or,
  • level one care is required and there may be an inappropriate admission to residential care
