GracemountGracemount Multis were demolished on Sunday 25th October so that redevelopment in the area can take place. Up to 220 new modern homes will be built in their place.
The regeneration of Gracemount will take place within the 21 Century Homes for Edinburgh Programme. Latest News Detailed planning permission for phase 1 was granted on 28th April 2010. The proposed development comprises 99 affordable homes in a mixture of flats, colony style blocks and terraced houses. It is hoped to be on site later in 2010. The Council is currently going through the process of selecting a developer for the site. The remainder of the site which will be the successful developer's responsibility to design and build for sale will be subject to a further planning application post appointment. A further planning application for additional parking on Gracemount Drive was also approved on 28th April 2010 in response to existing resident requests for extra parking adjacent to the site.
