Social renting in EdinburghTo apply for housing with 21 landlords including Edinburgh Council, Housing Associations and Co-operatives (Registered Social Landlords) you need to register with EdIndex, Edinburgh's common housing register. There are not enough properties for everyone who is registered with EdIndex. If you are not considered in priority need for social housing you will be waiting many years for an allocation. If you want to move soon and into an area of your choice there is advice available to help you find a reputable private landlord from Letwise or the Edinburgh Housing Advice Partnership. You can get an EdIndex application form
