Refuse Collection Changes - 12th August 2008

From 12th August 08, refuse collection days in some Edinburgh neighbourhoods will change. The changes are part of a Pathfinder project reviewing collection routes and collection staff's shifts to create a more efficient service.

Collection days for most South Edinburgh residents and some residents living in the North, West and South West neighbourhoods will change.

Check the collection day for your street by viewing an A-Z street list.

The Pathfinder will influence how waste and recycling service changes will be implemented across the rest of the city. Residents are being asked for their views on the refuse collection service by phoning 0131 529 3030 or by filling out the online feedback form.

In addition to the changes to routes and shifts, collection staff working in these areas will be assisting residents by providing details of recycling services. Talk to your refuse collection team to find out about Edinburgh's recycling facilities or visit the Council's recycling web pages.

The Pathfinder project will see more joined-up environmental services and an increase in joint working between refuse collection staff, Task Force teams and Environmental Wardens. Environment service issues including refuse collection, litter and clean streets will be addressed by the project. The project also gives the Council the opportunity to find the best way to improve recycling services.
