The Council adopted the Edinburgh City Local Plan on 28 January 2010. Notice of Adoption was advertised on the 5 February 2010 and can be viewed below:

Copies of the adopted Local Plan, including the Proposals Map, are available for inspection at the Planning & Building Standards Reception, Waverley Court, 4 East Market Street and all Council libraries. An updated interactive online version of the proposals map and printed copies of the plan will be available soon. In the meantime the proposals map for the finalised local plan and list of proposed modifications can be used.

Background documents

A Public Local Inquiry was held towards the end of 2008 to deal with objections to the local plan. The Report of Inquiry is available by following this link: Report of Inquiry

Following consideration of the Report of Inquiry the Council’s Planning Committee approved a list of proposed modifications, published at the start of October 2009. A number of objections were made to the proposed modifications during the period they were on public deposit.
