Edinburgh City Local Plan

The Edinburgh City Local Plan was approved by the Council on 22 March 2007. A number of modifications to the plan were published in 2008 following approval by the Council on 15 May 2008.

Both the Local Plan and the proposed modifications were the subject of objections. Towards the end of 2008, the Council held a public local inquiry, to deal with these objections. The inquiry was conducted by two Scottish Government inquiry reporters. A report of inquiry is now in preparation and expected to be received by the Council in June 2009. The Council will then consider the reporters’ recommendations and make final decisions on what modifications it is appropriate to make to the plan arising from outstanding objections.
