Edinburgh Development ForumThe role and purpose of the Forum is to encourage a widespread understanding of the planning process and oversee the successful implementation of planning reforms in the city of Edinburgh. ConsultationsThe following policy documents have recently been approved by the Planning Committee for consultation purposes. After consultation, the Planning Committee will take into account the views and comments that we receive by the advised dates, and then make its final decisions. Affordable Housing - Commuted Sums: This is a consultation on proposed changes to the way in which the Council calculates commuted sums for affordable housing, and the circumstances in which a commuted sum would be sought as opposed to the provision of affordable housing on-site. Commuted Sums Committee Report (PDF, 600kb) Biodiversity and Landscape Consultation: Draft planning guidance has been produced to advise on good practise when considering Biodiversity and Landscape. The Planning Committee of 25th February 2010 approved drafts for consultation on Landscape and Biodiversity to provide the opportunity for public comment. Closes: 23 April 2010. Draft Change of Use in Residential Properties guideline: The draft guideline is intended to replace three existing guidelines: Guest Houses, Private Day Nurseries, and Working from Home. Comments on the draft guideline should be sent to Rachel Gillen. Closes: 13 April 2010. Section 75 Agreement Consultation Exercise: the purpose of this consultation is to consider the proposed model agreement which is hoped will speed up the process of preparing these agreements and thereby the issuing of the planning permission to which they relate. Advertisements, Sponsorship and City Dressing: the Planning Committee on 23 February 2010 approved draft guidelines on Advertisements, Sponsorship and City Dressing. The guideline amalgamates and revises the current Planning Guidance on Advertisements and Sponsorship, and Flagpoles and provides new guidance on City Dressing.
