The Edinburgh Partnership, established in June 2003, is the Community Planning partnership for the city of Edinburgh.

What the Edinburgh Partnership does

The Edinburgh Partnership sets out the aims and Challenges for the city and the actions that need to be taken in the Community Plan. The Edinburgh Partnership also reports on the progress made on the actions, in particular, improvement to services. The Edinburgh Partnership holds a number of conferences for its members each year to discuss specific themes.

How the Edinburgh Partnership works

The Edinburgh Partnership Board (Word, 19kb) is made up of agency chief executives and community representatives. The Board is the main management group for community planning.

The Edinburgh Partnership Working Group (Word, 38kb) is made up of lead officers from the partner agencies and strategic partnerships. It supports community planning and coordinates partnership working.

There are two bodies of community representation on the Board: communities of interest represented by the Communities of Interest Support Network (Word, 28kb) and communities of place represented by the Edinburgh Association of Community Councils.

Communities of interest are groups in the community that have a particular issue or concern. The Communities of Interest Support Network supports the various community sectors involved in the Edinburgh Partnership.

Communities of place are those who live within a particular geographical area and have an interest in issues that are relevant to that area.
