What is Community Planning?

Community Planning is about organisations and communities working together to improve public services and quality of life. At the heart of Community Planning is listening to and communicating with communities. It is also about involving them in decisions about how services can better meet local circumstances.

Community Planning in Edinburgh

The City of Edinburgh Council has the statutory duty to lead community planning in Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Partnership is the community planning partnership for the city.  It is made up of representatives from key public and voluntary organisations, strategic partnerships, business and community sectors. The Edinburgh Partnership leads joint action to address key issues facing people living and working in the city. These include sustainable economic development, affordable housing, social inclusion and measures to tackle climate change.
