Customer First programme

This brings together projects such as customer services, national entitlement card (One Edinburgh card) and corporate address gazeteer (corporate-wide address list).

Records Management

The records management project is about organising the Council's records in a systematic way to ensure better information sharing. We will know what information we have and use it effectively in order to deliver a high standard of customer service.

Swift

The Social Work Systems Modernisation Project (Swift) is about changing the way that social work practitioners, administrative and support staff go about their work. In particular, it is trying to bring a consistent approach to our business processes and provide a case recording system that improves the way we provide services to our clients.

Children Services Directory project

Edinburgh Children’s Services Directory Project will provide a publicly accessible, web-based directory of local children’s services. This will include listing provision from statutory, voluntary and private sectors. Services to children and young people up to the age of 25 which are provided in the Edinburgh area will be featured.

Community Equipment Service Management and Information project

This project aims to implement a new IT system into the City of Edinburgh Council Community Equipment Service (CES) in spring 2008.

e-HR

In line with the Council’s Human Resource Strategy, e-HR’s goal is to transform the way the Council’s HR service operates for managers and employees. It will deliver a new HR system, simplify HR processes and procedures, and provide support to all staff via a new HR Service Centre.

Government Secure Extranet

The GSX or Government Secure Extranet is the Government standard for secure email transmission and is used by the majority of public bodies for transfer of data and messages of a sensitive nature. It is routed across privately owned and managed networks which all have stringent security policies.
