The Get On mobile information centre (often referred to as “the bus”) is an information and referral resource promoting local, citywide and national services that impact positively on a person’s employability. It sites in most of Edinburgh’s neighbourhoods and will help anyone who would like to improve different aspects of their lives. Get On gives guidance on a range of services and organisations including: health, employability, learning, housing and volunteering. In doing so Get On aims to meet the unique needs of each individual who comes to visit and provides a relaxed, straight forward service. Get On works with Neighbourhood Partnerships to link up with local services in each area. The centre is out on Edinburgh streets almost every day and visits many local areas including Portobello, Oxgangs, Leith, Muirhouse, Pilton Craigmillar, South Queensferry, Wester Hailes, Kirkliston, Currie, Tollcross and a wide variety of community led events across the city.
