Edinburgh's green beltThe Green Belt around the edge of the City is where new building is not normally allowed. The aims are to stop the City expanding too much, allow easy access to the countryside and protect the attractive landscapes around the City. The Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspaces Trust works to protect and improve the quality of the Green Belt.
