CLARENCE -report lighting and road faults

Freephone CLARENCE 0800 23 23 23 was set up in 1990 by Lothian Regional Council, and is now run by The City of Edinburgh Council on behalf of Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian Councils.

CLARENCE enables you to report a wide range of faults and hazards concerning road, cycleway, footpath, and lighting problems, such as:

  • potholes
  • faulty streetlights
  • traffic light problems
  • blocked road drains
  • damage to bus shelters, etc.

Clarence also deals with enquiries relating to road closures and parking issues and is also the public contact point during consultations, such as the introduction of Controlled Parking Zones around the city.
