School places

The City of Edinburgh is divided into catchment areas. Most addresses have four catchment schools:

• A Non Denominational Primary School
• A Non Denominational Secondary School
• A Roman Catholic Primary School
• A Roman Catholic Secondary School

Priority for a place in a school is based on home address and not on attendance at an associated school or nursery class.

Please note that your nearest school may not be your catchment school.

Because of the high quality of the maps, some have large file sizes and may take a while to download, depending on the speed of your internet connection. If you have any problems downloading and viewing the maps, please contact Catchment Enquiries who will be able to help or send out paper copies if needed.
