Child and Family Centres

Child and Family Centres provide integrated care and pre-school education for children up to five years old as well as support to families with children up to eight years old.

Staff offer intensive support to make sure your child gets the best possible start in life. They may be able to visit you in your own home to provide extra advice about your child's development. Some centres also have drop-in facilities based in the local community.

Health visitors or social workers can make referrals but we welcome enquiries from families who feel they might benefit from extra support. If you would like more information, contact the centres directly or contact Social Care Direct on 0131 200 2324.

Sure Start Projects

Sure Start projects offer support to families with children aged 0-3years. The projects offer a range of services in different parts of the city. For details of the services and contact details, please use our directory or contact early years.
