Community councils are groups of local people who act as the voice of their communities.
The Scheme, Constitution and Standing Orders set out the rules governing community councils including election procedures, meeting arrangements, membership numbers, financial provisions and a code of conduct.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to the first period of public consultation. A summary of the consultation process, key findings and outcome of the consultation are included in the report to Council. A record of submitted comments is available from the Community Council Liaison Officer on 469 3838 or community.councils@edinburgh.gov.uk.
On 2 May, the Council authorised the draft Scheme for Community Councils for a second period of consultation.
The review aims to improve and update the terms and provisions of the Community Council Scheme.
