Public Participation at Meetings
How to Attend Meetings
The public are welcome to attend meetings of the Council and its various Committees and Sub-Committees, except where confidential business is being discussed.
Meetings usually take place in the City Chambers and when meetings are held in other venues this will be indicated on the public notice of meetings and on the front page of the agenda.
The Full Council meets in the Main Council Chamber in the City Chambers.
Times of Committees vary and can be checked in the public notice of meetings.
Speaking at Meetings
The public do not have an automatic right to speak at Council meetings but members of the public can make a deputation which will allow them to speak directly to the Council or one of its Committees or Sub-Committees.
