Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh

The First Citizen takes a lead in all matters that concern the life of the city.   The role of Lord Lieutenant and Lord Provost is therefore associated with many socities, charities and organisations as their Chairman, President, Patron, Trustee, Board Member, etc.  The majority are ex-officio positions that pass from one Lord Lieutenant and Lord Provost to the next, though a small number of associations are of specific interest to the post holder and cease at the end of their term.
