Otter Spotter training at Hermitage of Braid on 25th March
Join the Natural Heritage Rangers on Sunday 25th March to learn survey techniques and then take part in an otter survey along the Braid Burn. Booking essential. Please contact the Countryside Ranger Service for further information and to book your place.

Funding secured for Walled Garden Project
The Countryside Rangers, along with the friends of the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill have successfully secured a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and from Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) to improve the walled garden at the Hermitage of Braid. Further information on the Walled Garden Project.
Upcoming events
On 6th January 2012 join a Countryside Ranger to learn of the fascinating history and wildlife associated with Cramond Island and to look for the wildlife which abounds both on and off the island.
On 19th February take a trip through Craiglockhart and Colinton Dells with a Countryside Ranger and discover interesting facts and myths about this hidden gem.

The Investors in Volunteers Award
The Countryside Ranger Service has become the first Ranger Service in Scotland to be awarded the Investors in Volunteering (IIV) Award which is the UK 's standard for good practice in volunteering management which is managed in Scotland by Volunteer Development Scotland.
