Performance Improvement
The Performance Improvement Framework underpins the delivery of excellence and performance improvement across the Council.
The Council adopted its first corporate performance framework in 2005, and introduced performance scorecards, regular reporting and scrutiny of performance indicators and improvement actions. This has been periodically reviewed to reflect organisational and governance changes.
The Performance Improvement Framework has been derived as a result of the Achieving Excellence programme to ensure that the three corporate values that form the tenets of Edinburgh being an "Excellent Council" are delivered. These are:
putting customers first;
looking after Edinburgh ; and
becoming a top performing council.
This framework has provided a sound basis on which to develop and establish performance improvement across the Council.
