Win free Council Tax for a year
Sign up to Direct Debit by 30 April for a chance to win FREE Council Tax for a year.
There will be five lucky winners of the prize draw. The competition is open to anyone that has a Council Tax direct debit arrangement in place by 30 April. Each winning account will not be required to pay Council Tax for 2013/14 and the draw will be made in May 2013.
The prize draw is open to all customers who have no Council Tax arrears and pay Council Tax by Direct Debit, including existing Direct Debit customers and those who sign up to Direct Debit by 30 April 2013. The prize draw is not open to Council employees.
Paying by direct debit
Choose one of the following ways to set up a direct debit:

Complete the online form to 'set up a direct debit to pay your Council tax or Non-domestic rates'.

Print and complete the downloadable form to set up a direct debit (PDF) and return it to us by post (the postal address is on the form) or hand it into your local Neighbourhood office.
- Phone us on 0131 469 5000, select option 2 for Council tax/Non-domestic (business) rates. Please have the following information ready before you call:

Council tax or Non-domestic (business) rates customer account number (on the top of your bill).

Your bank or building society details including your account number and sort code.
We will send you a confirmation letter within three working days of setting up the direct debit. An amended demand notice will also be sent to you showing the instalments to be taken from your bank account at least 10 working days before any amount is debited from your account.
