Allotment Strategy for Edinburgh
Allotment strategy summary
The new Allotment Strategy for Edinburgh was launched in September 2010.
The strategy gives a background to the allotments of Edinburgh and identifies seven key objectives for the delivery of the allotment service in Edinburgh .
The objectives of the strategy are:

Ensure adequate provision of allotments

Encourage other forms of gardening

Provide high quality allotments

Ensure good administration
- Ensure environmentally sustainable allotments

Develop and sustain partnership working

Secure resources
The objectives will be delivered by a five-year Allotment Strategy Implementation Plan, which will be reviewed annually by the Allotment Strategy Steering Group.
The Strategy Steering Group is made up of representatives from the City of Edinburgh Council , the Federation of Edinburgh and District Allotments and Gardens Associations (FEDAGA), the Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society (SAGS), the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society, the Bridgend Allotment Community Health Inclusion Project and NHS Lothian.
