Play facilities in Edinburgh

We place great importance in providing a wide range of opportunities for play and development for the young people of Edinburgh.

Search our online directory to find your nearest play area and information about facilities which are available.

Equipped or unequipped play areas, multi use games areas, skateboard areas, tennis courts and teenage shelters are just some of the facilities that are incorporated into the design of areas for children and young people to encourage play and social interaction.

Play Area Action Plan

The Play Area Action Plan aims to guide the improvement of existing play areas, sets out a vision for future play area provision and prioritises future investment. The Plan was approved by the Council's Policy and Strategy Committee in June 2012.
