We place great importance in providing a wide range of opportunities for play and development for the young people of Edinburgh.

Search our online directory to find your nearest play area and information about facilities which are available.

Equipped or unequipped play areas, multi use games areas, skateboard areas, tennis courts and teenage shelters are just some of the facilities that are incorporated into the design of areas for children and young people to encourage play and social interaction.

Play Area Action Plan Consultation

The Play Area Action Plan aims to guide the improvement of existing play areas and to identify new opportunities for facilities across the city. The consultation on the plan has now ended. Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment on the document. We will now go through all the comments and update the plan appropriately. The updated Play Area Action Plan will be presented to the Council's Policy and Strategy Committee for ratification in due course.
