Access to Sport and Culture (ASC) Edinburgh
Make a difference to Arts and Sport in the City
Come and join 93 organisations and sign up to the Pledge!
What is the Pledge?
The Pledge is for any organisation that provides arts or sport services in Edinburgh. This includes public, voluntary and commercial organisations, partnerships, agencies, companies, clubs and groups. The Pledge provides a framework for organisations to set out activities to improve the impact of their work on access to and participation in these sectors.
By signing the Pledge, organisations will make a strong and lasting shared commitment to work together to continue to break down barriers. The Pledge states:
"We Pledge to improve the quality of life and life chances for all people in Edinburgh through increased access to cultural and sporting activities by:
- Developing and promoting joint working
- Improving access to facilities
- Improving the quality and dissemination of information
- Promoting participation
- Increasing affordability
- Creating sustainable provision
- Responding to users' views and needs"
The Access to Sport and Culture (ASC) Edinburgh Conference
This is an annual event where your work and your organisation's plans take centre court.
Last year's event took place on Tuesday, 25 September 2012 and focused on Positive Destinations for young people and Looked After Children as part of the Edinburgh Guarantee initiative. The event also gave organisations an opportunity to make a short pitch about a project or service they wanted to promote or would like partners for.
Each year over 100 different organisations, agencies, groups and clubs attend, and fantastic partnerships have already been established. 97% of attendees in previous years found at least one or more new partners of value to their business.
