Edinburgh Cultural Partnership
Working together to develop arts in Edinburgh
The Edinburgh Cultural Partnership is a voice for arts in the city, with representatives from cultural and arts organisations ranging from Dancebase to the Royal Society of Edinburgh to Festivals Edinburgh.
The Chairperson of the Cultural Partnership is Councillor Deidre Brock, Convener of the Culture and Leisure Committee and the Vice Chair is Donald Smith, the Director of the Scottish Storytelling Centre and representative for the Literature Forum for Scotland .
The Partnership:
- Increases the profile and importance of culture in the city, nationally and internationally
- Increases joint working to make it easier for people to attend and participate in arts, sports and physical activity
- Increases engagement with a wide range of organisations and communities of interest and place; to assist with meeting the city's objectives and improving access to services
- Increases the collective knowledge base of the cultural sector and more active involvement in appropriate new initiatives that emerge
They do this:
- By commenting on and helping to implement cultural policy and strategy documents that outline and plan the way forward for the sector
- By exchanging ideas and information about funding or grant application opportunities
- By sharing good practices resulting in saving in costs and resources, and revenue generation
- By identifying and taking opportunities to work together in partnership on projects or events

The Edinburgh Cultural Partnership is also working alongside local organisations through the ASC Edinburgh project and has committed itself to addressing access issues within culture and sport.
