Register for Non-domestic rates or report a change

If you are opening a new business or moving an existing business into or within Edinburgh you will be required to register for Non-domestic rates. To open an account we will require the following information:

If you own the property -

• The date the sale was completed
• The previous owner's forwarding address/legal agents if known
• The exact dates for any period that the property was vacant/unoccupied.

If you rent the property -

• The date that your tenancy agreement/lease starts
• Your landlord or managing agent's name and address
• The exact dates for any period that the property was vacant since the start of your lease.

If you let the property out -

• Your forwarding address or name and address of the managing agent's
• The full name of the new tenant including trading name if known
• The exact date the tenancy started.
