Consumer Advice

Edinburgh Trading Standards no longer offers a Consumer Advice service.

We work closely with an organisation called Citizens Advice, which is a government funded telephone and online service offering information and advice on consumer issues such as:

• Goods that are either faulty, not fit for their purpose, or described incorrectly
• Services that have not been carried out with reasonable care and  within a reasonable time, for an acceptable price.

Edinburgh Trading Standards works hard to make sure that people who live in, work in and visit the city have access to information on the laws that we enforce.

There is always new legislation being introduced that can affect your rights as a consumer. We want to make it easy for you to access this information.
