People are moving into the new homes at Gracemount. The homes are being built by Cruden Homes (East) Ltd and they will be completed in two phases.
The first phase consisting of 99 new homes, (67 for social rent, 20 mid-market rent and 12 shared equity) will be completed by the end of summer 2012. The first homes for social rent and mid-market rent were transferred to the Council in November 2011. Transfers will continue on a block by block basis until the construction is completed. Homes for rent will be advertised online and in the Key to Choice paper.

Further information can also be found on the Liberton & Gilmerton Neighbourhood Partnership website.
Evolution at Gracemount
Evolution is the name of the second phase of new homes. It consists of 70 flats and 46 houses for sale by Cruden Homes. Eight homes within the second phase will also be sold on a shared equity basis. Phase two began in April 2011 and should take approximately three years to complete, depending on sales. Gracemount Gardening Competition
Local Primary school children helped to design and plant new gardens at the 21st Century Homes development at Gracemount.
Gracemount Primary pupils Kelsie Grant and Erin Neave's design was picked for the front garden of the show home. It featured potted plants, a rose garden and a bird house.
St Catherine's pupil William McLauchlan's design was chosen for the back garden and included stepping stones, a bird bath and a seating area.
