How to buy or rent a 21st century home

You can rent a 21st Century home and pay social rent or mid market rent. Mid market rent levels are set higher than social rent but below private rent to make them affordable to more people. 

To be eligible for council homes to rent you need to be registered with Edindex, a partnership between the Council and 20 Housing Associations and Co-operatives in Edinburgh. You can get a form to register by:

• downloading an EdIndex form
• getting a form from your neighbourhood office
• calling the EdIndex team on 0131 529 5080
• emailing the EdIndex team 

The new homes will be advertised on Key to Choice.
