City Centre Southern Arc Area Development Framework

Area Development Framework

The Area Development Framework (ADF) for the area to the south of the city centre - known as the City Centre Southern Arc was approved by the Planning Committee on 1 March 2012.

Consultation

Four design workshops were held to inform the content of the ADF.  These were attended by Council officials who represent services operating in the area, local residents and other stakeholders with an interest in the area, including landowners, community groups and resident groups.  The workshops allowed participants the opportunity to discuss priorities across the Southern Arc area and help shape and develop projects within the context of a Framework.  A document summarising the first three charrettes was produced with a list of the outline projects discussed at a subsequent event.

The presentations by Diarmaid Lawlor (Head of Urbanism, Architecture + Design Scotland) and Margaret Douglas (Public Health Consultant, NHS Lothian) are available to view.  Also available is a health commentary prepared by the NHS.

Enquiries about the ADF should be sent to andrew.sikes@edinburgh.gov.uk
