Renew your residents' or priority parking permit

You can renew and manage your residents' parking permit using our online service, NSL Apply. You can only renew your application four weeks before your permit is due to expire. The option to renew will only appear in your account at that point.

Apply for, renew or manage your parking permit

Our online service will calculate your permit price for you. A renewal is for the same vehicle and starts the day after the expiry date of your current permit.

Please be aware that we introduced a surcharge for diesel-fuelled vehicles in May 2023.

Existing residents' permit holders will be exempt from the surcharge for period of 3 years, so long as your permit is renewed on time and is for the same vehicle.

If there is a gap between the expiry of your old permit and the start of your new permit you will need to make a new application.  New applications will be subject to a £50 annual surcharge.  Find out more information about the diesel surcharge, including the pro-rata rate for 6 and 3 month permits.

Once you have logged into your account, check your documents are up to date. You may need to update your vehicle or household documents to current versions, i.e. annual insurance certificates. If you do not provide up to date documents your renewal may not be approved on time. This may result in your vehicle being issued with a parking ticket.

If your documents are up to date, click renew and you will then be returned to the NSL Apply home page. Once approved and payment has been made your permit will be activated. You will receive an email to confirm this. Do not park until your permit is showing as active on your account.
