Garden waste

New three weekly garden waste collections

Your garden waste collections are changing. From March, they will be collected once every three weeks all year round instead of two weeks in the summer and four weeks in the winter.

The garden waste service is not a statutory service, and is not provided by all Councils. It is one we provide because it is valued by residents. In response to the funding challenges faced by all Councils, some have ceased the service, while others have introduced a charge for the service.

The 3 weekly model allows us to maintain the service and means we can do so without additional charges to householders who use the service.

More information about your garden waste collections including the date your service will change is available on your bin collection calendar. If the changeover to the new system means you would wait more than four weeks for a collection we will carryout an additional collection week of 27 February - 3 March 2017. If this affects you we will write and tell you which day to put your bin out.
