Edinburgh's approach to a sustainable economy

The Council aims to achieve sustainable economic growth through investment in jobs. This is one in which our resources are not used up faster than they can be replenished and benefits are shared equitably. This helps to create more opportunities, making our city fairer, more skilled and helps create a good quality of life.

The Council embeds these principles into its economic strategy “A Strategy for Jobs”.

Supporting the delivery of the economic strategy, the council is producing a strategic framework for supporting jobs and investment in the Low Carbon sector. This will consider in detail emerging opportunities in the 'sector' and detail the actions that the Council will undertake to support the sector.
