Edinburgh Autism plan

People with autism who do not have a learning disability

In November 2013 the Council agreed a plan for people with autism who do not have a learning disability.

There are six priority areas identified for service improvement

  • development of a care pathway
  • the wellbeing of young children and young people with autism
  • housing
  • employment
  • individual outcomes
  • better training  and awareness of autism.

You can download a summary of the plan, or the full version, below.

The Edinburgh Autism plan group makes sure that the recommendations in the plan are taken forward. The group is made up of people who use services, carers, staff from the Council, NHS Lothian and the voluntary sector.
