Equalities and Rights Network grant

Funding for a service across Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian

The Council’s Communities and Neighbourhoods Committee recently agreed release funds for a new Equalities and Rights Network (EaRN) covering Edinburgh, East and Mid Lothian.

You can download the committee report and the application pack below.

The EaRN Board is looking for applications from third sector organisations or consortia for a service provider to deliver the Network’s aims and outputs over the next three years. The Board expect any proposals to

  • be SMART (specific, measureable, realistic, and timeous)
  • address the requirements
  • show additional community benefits
  • take account of the service start date of 11 May 2015.

You can download the application pack below. This includes details of the service needs, and the assessment process to be used by an independent panel.

The total grant sum is £135,000 across 2015-18 (£45,000 per annum) with no further sums available. The grant award will be in-principle and subject to performance reviews and annual progress reports to Committee.

Key dates

The key dates for this process are

  • the deadline to apply, on 20 March 2015 at 12 noon
  • the Committee decision to award the grant, to be made on 5 May 2015
  • the service start date of 11 May 2015.

The application panel may ask you to make a presentation. If this is needed, you will receive the request in writing and a provisional time for this in the morning of 7 April 2015.

Please submit your completed application to the email address given in the pack, by 12 noon on 20 March 2015. Submissions received after this time will not be considered.
